When you're shopping for unique lighting to bedazzle your space, you usually have to pay for the quirk factor. From my experience, purchasing anything that's beyond a basic, matchbox-home lamp ends being priced at $600 and above. The result: most homes in Lebanon are brought alight with the awkward hanging tungsten bulb.
If you're tight on budget, you'll settle for ordinary. If you feel so inclined and have time on your hands, you go DIY. That backfires easily - DIY lights are much more hazardous than you might think (been there, burnt that).
Here's where the Pipe Brothers come into play. A concept launched by Toni and Alexi Abou Sleiman, TPB is a classy-grunge collection of lamps.
Each brother, Toni and Alexi Abou Sleiman, hold a role in the fruition of the freshly-launched brand, which at the current moment, includes ceiling, floor, desk, and floor lamps - a huge variety to say the least. Toni designs, wires and manufactures, while Alexi takes charge of the branding and the site.
I work with one of the two Pipe Brothers, Alexi. When he brought in some five lamps into the office, we were all enthralled by how attractive they were, especially in a space that's much more traditional than industrial.

The pipes are rigid, with a superb finish that makes them smooth to the touch. When lit, the grungy shadows come to life and are absolutely spectacular in bringing a major oomph to the blandest of rooms.
The lamps are affordable for their robust quality, with a set of two wall lamps priced at $120.
Safe so say that some pipe dreams do have a bright fate, after all.
You can purchase the lamps from the first collection on their website, or in Badaro between L'Avocat and Bodo. You can also customize your own design.
